Britt adds Watkins Family Hour concert, featuring Sean and Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek, Fiona Apple, and special guests

April 22, 2014

MEDFORD, OR — Britt is proud to announce the addition of a concert to the 2015 summer lineup. Watkins Family Hour, led by Sara and Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek, and featuring Fiona Apple, Don Heffington, Sebastian Steinberg and special guests, comes to Britt on Wednesday, August 19.

For singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins, the Watkins Family Hour has long been a laboratory where they can try out new material or master cover songs. Their monthly show at L.A.’s famed venue Largo has been hailed as a convivial, communal event where they welcome an impressive array of musician friends old and new. The Watkins Family Hour is always full of surprises, unexpected guests and one-of-a-kind match-ups. Fiona Apple often joins them, and recent guests have included a variety of musicians and performers. Sean and Sara are now taking the show on a summer tour that coincides with the release of the first-ever Watkins Family Hour LP on their own label.

Tickets for Watkins Family Hour are on sale to Britt members beginning today, and on May 15 to the general public. For full information about Britt’s 2015 season and membership, visit www.brittfest.org or call 541-773-6077 or 1-800-882-7488. Britt’s box office is now open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday at 216 West Main St. in Medford.

Inspired by its intimate and scenic hillside venue, Britt Music & Arts Festival provides diverse live performances, an incomparable classical festival and dynamic education programs that create a sense of discovery and community. Since its grassroots beginnings in 1963, the non-profit organization has grown from a two-week chamber music festival to a summer-long series of concerts in a variety of genres, including a three-week Classical Festival, and year-round education and engagement programs.
