Britt announces new name, look and plans for its orchestra in 2019
MEDFORD, OR – Britt Music and Arts Festival is launching a new name and brand for its orchestra, the cornerstone of Britt’s summer seasons since 1963. The Britt Festival Orchestra (BFO) is now the official title of this unique ensemble, and with this new name comes an updated look and feel for the orchestra’s brand identity that fully reflects the vision of Music Director and Conductor Teddy Abrams. Teddy is featured prominently in various elements designed to communicate the excitement and artistic exploration that the BFO has demonstrated under his direction.
Powerful and bold, with a touch of whimsy, the BFO’s new logo plays on the energetic and creative qualities of Teddy, the BFO musicians, and the music they perform. The logo incorporates the musical symbol for ‘forte’, which reflects the striking characteristics of the BFO’s performances.
“The Britt Festival Orchestra is a world-class institution with an extraordinary history and a vital future.” says Teddy Abrams. “Our mission to present unique and powerful musical experiences is reflected in our diverse programming, ranging from orchestral masterpieces to numerous commissions and dramatic projects. Our new brand captures this creative spirit and enthusiasm for sharing our music here in Jacksonville.
In addition, Britt is excited to announce that Teddy Abrams has renewed his contract and will continue as Conductor and Music Director of the Britt Festival Orchestra for the next five years.
Maestro Teddy Abrams will visit southern Oregon Monday, November 26 through Friday, November 30, sharing the orchestra’s new name and branding style, working with the Britt staff and board to plan for the 2019 season, and making residency visits to several area high schools in Grants Pass, Medford, and Ashland.
The 2019 Britt Festival Orchestra Season will be held from Tuesday, July 22 through Sunday, August 11, 2019, with a full announcement of the programs set for Thursday, January 24.
